North Node in Gemini, South Node In Sagittarius 2020-2022
A new cosmic cycle is underway, transforming how we share facts and information. The Lunar nodes changing zodiac signs is an important global shift that launches us into a 1.5-year cycle of collective growth and realignment. On May 6, 2020, the lunar north node (representing our conscious motivations and destiny) entered Gemini, and the lunar south node (representing our karmic instincts and comfort zone) moved into Sagittarius, shifting our focus toward the spread and sharing of information and truth within society. This cycle will continue until January 19, 2022, when the lunar nodes of destiny move into to Taurus-Scorpio zodiacal axis.
What Are The Lunar Nodes Of Destiny?
The north and south node are two abstract points, calculated from the intersection of the Moon’s orbital path and the Sun’s annual path. They align in perfect opposition, meaning they are always in opposite zodiac signs, representing the intricate connection between our past, present, and purpose. Every 1.5 years, the lunar nodes change zodiac signs, bringing a new mission and journey for the collective that prompts global change and evolution.
The Old Paradigm
Before we look ahead at the new lunar cycle, we must first look back at the chapter we have completed. The north node has left tender Cancer, and the south node has exited ambitious Capricorn after a self-care-oriented journey that began back in 2018. During this transition, we learned to seek a balance between our personal and public lives. The lunar south node in Capricorn urged us to put our best foot forward without getting sucked into the destructive patterns encouraged by capitalism. On the other hand, the lunar north node emphasizes the value and importance of taking time for ourselves. Through this cycle, the universe called us to realize that reputation and success cannot offer true emotional fulfillment, for this is something that can only be sourced from within.
The Cancer-Capricorn lunar node journey was an opportunity to release ourselves from the pattern of seeking peace in external gratification and validation from everyone but ourselves. Redefining success led us to a deeper understanding of our place in the world and how we've fallen into a pattern of neglecting our deeper emotional needs.
The North Node In Gemini
The north node in Gemini encourages our intellect and curiosity. Through information gathering and sharing, we'll learn to be better communicators and listeners and to focus on facts and truth as the spread of misinformation increases. We must pay closer attention to our sources during this nodal cycle rather than getting caught up in the whirlwind of gossip and scandal. This nodal cycle calls us to ask questions and become independent learners by conducting our research instead of waiting for someone to guide and teach us. We may become more community-oriented and focused on interacting with people in our local communities that we've overlooked in the past.
The South Node In Sagittarius
The south node in Sagittarius asks us to break our habit of getting lost in stories and theories that haven't been verified. Our desire to be well-informed may have created an unhealthy obsession with knowing everything and presenting our personal views and philosophies as the truth. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter (the planet of ethics and morals, religion and spirituality, law, foreign travel, and international affairs), indicating that we are releasing and readjusting karmic qualities around these areas as a global community.
